Creating Shared Value: The Key to Enhancing ESG

The concept of Creating Shared Value (CSV) addresses each facet of today's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) narrative. The key differentiator is an economic value proposition that not only enhances good ESG practices but has the potential to create a competitive advantage wherein outsized returns are matched by outsized impact. The Creating Shared Value business model is inherently purpose-driven, with improved ESG performance emerging as an inevitable and beneficial outcome. Join CSV Midstream Solutions for a discussion about their journey as they strive to create shared value, now and into the future.

Greg Johansen: Regulatory & Compliance Manager

Greg has worked in the oil and gas industry for 20 years. After graduating from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, he began his career doing geophysical surveying before joining Excelsior Engineering, where he acquired much of his regulatory, environmental, and project execution knowledge. For the last 8+ years, Greg has worked for CSV, managing the impacts of an ever-changing regulatory landscape on CSV's growing portfolio. He continues to diversify his skillsets, with new experiences deepening his expertise in topics ranging from health and safety, to ESG. His involvement in CSV’s land and community engagement led to the culmination of the first government approval for a greenfield sulphur recovery facility in over thirty years.

Dan Cote: Director, Projects

Dan has 25 years of wide-ranging experience working in the oil and gas industry. He began his career in the trades before moving into design and project management at a fabrication facility. He later assumed work managing oil and gas projects for engineering firms. For the last 8+ years, Dan has managed CSV’s engineering and projects team. He is a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) in the mechanical discipline and a Project Management Professional (PMP).

Daniel Clarke: Chief Executive Officer

Daniel is a Professional Engineer with 25 years of experience in engineering design and executive management. With expertise in engineering, procurement, and construction management, he has sponsored and/or executed several successful projects ranging from smaller installations to contemplated projects in excess of $500 million. He is a proud alumnus of the Harvard Business School where he first adopted the theory of “Creating Shared Value” as a business model and came to envision the creation of CSV Midstream Solutions. He is committed to reinventing Alberta’s midstream industry, while fostering an authentic culture of “giving back” that brings together a close-knit community of colleagues, business partners, and those living and operating in the regions CSV impacts.
